malangnya

malangnya kalau negara disebut bebas beragama tetapi agama lain dihina tanpa sekatan.

malangnya kalau prinsip bertukar apabila berubah hambanya.
malangnya, malangnya.....

"abang kau yang lain pun sama ja. tengok si hasni tue. dia dah la mula jadik liberal. pergaulan pun dah mula longgar. abis suma dia bantai bersembang, laki pompuan sama ja. rosak kau nanti kalau ikot dia. ikot ja abang nie."

Malaysia/Malay as collectivist?

With psych as my final paper, i hereby officially end my 1st year life in melbourne as a uni student. there are a lot of story and experience that i gained through one whole year. there are one point that i learned in psych that really make me think.

we learn in psych that countries in this world are divided into two categories, individualist and collectivist. individualist is a country where everyone supposed to take care of themselves and it emphasized more on self-identity while for a collectivist country, everyone supposed to take care of each other where the social identity is a prominent feature. plus, in a collectivist society, people are expected to act with the good of society in their mind and never had the intention to rock the boat.

not surprising, most of asian countries including malaysia is a collectivist country. this has greatly influenced the citizen of malaysia and the most greatest influence is on malay. we can see that in a malay society, everything that goes against the norm, that go against what the society had used to do is deemed as a wrongdoing or a crime eventhough it is not actually wrong. everyone is required to lead their life the way everyone else do it. this had actually hindered a lot of improvement as improvement is seen as something wrong, not appropriate, something new that might ruined the society.

because of this, we as malay had been left out in from the progress of the world. how come the mentality of citizens that had been independent for more than 50 years still not improved. no one dared to try and venture into the uncertainty. we feel safe to be in the same place, feel secure with our own kind.

to revile; to revere; to respect

Here is land. Go pray on it.
Here is land. But remember;

I do not want to see your crosses,
I do not want to hear your church bells;

Shut the lid on that age old organ,
And turn your trumpets in.

Keep your deities away from me,
Lest my eyes fall upon its evil;
Silence your prayers from this air that is mine,
Lest my ears be tainted by their devotion

Keep away from my sight your statues
In all their colour and splendour,

For your statues are not my statues
And only what's mine shall exist.

Snuff out your candles, And pour out the oil,
For only the light in my lamps Shall flicker for all.

Here is land. I''ll tolerate you here.
But this is my fence. And cross it you shall not.

~ Why, brethren, why?
Why do my prayers offend you so?

Do we both not ask for mercy and grace?
Do we both not seek strength for kindness and love?

Do we both not fall on our knees for forgiveness?
Do we both not hold out our hands in thanks?

Why do you anger at the sight of my cross?
Why must I hide the symbols of my faith?

Why do my steeples, my statues,
my stupas and my structures of belief drive you to hatred?

My beliefs needn't be your beliefs
As yours needn't be mine.

But is not your God My God, too?

And is this land not yours or mine,
But that of the Lord of all mankind?

How many times have we, malay-muslim think as if the land belong to us only?

How many times have we actually deny the right of other to practice their religion whereas we never practice our own religion eventhough there is no barrier or obligation to stop us compared with other religion?

How many times have we tear down temple and church whereas we never realize that there is mosque in every 10km with only 2 peoples using it each day?

REMEMBER!!!!!

We give them loud noise and smell to accompany their prayer and we might get that back someday, maybe not in 'our' land or 'our' time but our children might get it in 'their' land and 'their' time.

AS THEY HAD TOLERATE OUR EID CELEBRATION AND WE TOLERATE THEIR HOLY DAY,TOLERATE THEIR PRAYER AS THEY HAD TOLERATE OUR AZAN FOR 52 YEARS.....

Response to a post....

this post is in response to a post by my frens. sumtimes a misunderstanding may arise without communication. so i'll try my best to give my opinion in matter in question.

one of the situation is when he said tat what the point of having that forum as malaysia already have great thinker and lawyer like karpal singh and so on, they should be able to give great opinion regarding the matter discuss in the forum. well, if we want to use that kind of logic, then let me ask back; what the point of some of the groups keep fighting for the full implementation of Islam in malaysia? just let the great ulama', mufti and Islamic scholar that have great knowledge do the talking. they that have more knowledge than us should know what best for Islam and malaysia. why we want to make a fuss about that when mufti and great ulama' don't say anything? surely it because we must and should try to do something about Islam rather than just left everything to them. the same goes for the forum. we as malaysian must try to do something. YES, i agree that there are great thinkers in malaysia but do they actually care about that matter?

the second matter regarding a comment made on one of the speakers. i not going to comment on the comment but rather on the way the comment is made. when the comment is made, is it made with the full knowledge on what the speaker had really said or is it just the same pattern "i hear that my friend said that my friend said that the speaker is (fill up the comment)"? if this is the way it is, how sure that the comment made is really true and just mrely an assumption? because remember if it just an assumption and it is not true, then it is consider a 'fitnah' already.

my last point is what wrong with hearing point from both side rather than think that 'I already in the right way. there no point for me to hear the opinion from the other side of argument.' justice cannot be uplift by just hear from one side of argument. eventhough if you already in the right way, then hear the opinion from the other group that is wrong, detect what is wrong and try to change it. nothing can come up from doing nothing and keep confine ourselves in the right way. it is true that yourself will be saved but how about other people that is deemed wrong?

this all just my opinion. if there is anything wrong in my words, it is due to my weakness that come from the Above
